Fundraising is readily embraced by some and looked upon with less enthusiasm by others. Either way, raising funds is a necessary activity for not-for-profit organizations, such as the Canton Lions. Registration fees only begin to cover the very basic operational costs, such as field rental fees and equipment certifications; any additional necessary items, such as replacing old and worn-out uniforms as just one example, must come from funds raised by our families.
Because our organization is fully volunteer led, every dollar raised goes directly to the expenses responsible for making our organization better and stronger. All Canton Lions participants are required to participate in one annual mandatory fundraiser involving the sale of an item (such as the Hungry Howie’s pizza certificates and Charity Mania Football Cards), while the majority of fundraising takes place via restaurants,
grocery rewards-card designations, etc.
We understand not everyone can attend every event, but we would be most grateful if everyone could come to a few throughout the year. The organization will make every attempt to host fundraising events outside of practice days, starting with preseason events. Please remember, your participation will always make a difference!
Mandatory Fundraiser
Please also note that a mandatory fundraiser will (again) be required for each athlete this season (1 athlete in a family = 1 fundraiser requirement; 2 athletes in a family = 2 fundraiser requirements, etc.).
Mandatory Fundraising You have your choice of 3 options for fundraising this year.
- You can pay the $150 fee per athlete - If you don't want to sell anything, the $150 buyout option is for you!
- Sell 12 Charity Mania Football Cards at $20 each per athlete.
- Sell 40 Hungry Howie's Pizza Certificates at $8 each per athlete.
If you would like to volunteer to help with this very important effort, please contact the
Canton Lions President.
